ABOUT HURRY BACK
Russell’s HURRY BACK market sold groceries to the Elliston Place neighborhood in the seventies.
We’re told it was Father Ryan student’s first choice for their beer and cigarettes. The original Father Ryan campus was located 2 blocks west, where Elliston 23 stands today. You’ll see photos of the original Hurry Back behind the tap handles, on the walls behind the corner booth, on the white brick wall, and at Hurry-Back.com.
If you look closely, you’ll find some of the original building elements inside today’s Hurry Back; including our gorgeous bar top and corner booth table, both made from the original pine ceiling beams and a few of the original building exterior elements, which are now inside Hurry Back. Today’s Hurry Back was built to improve our neighborhood by providing a friendly and welcoming spot to enjoy a bite & a beer.
Hurry Back is owned by the Cobb family, who also own Exit/In, next door; and are dedicated to preserving Elliston’s authenticity, as one of Nashville’s important cultural districts.
We truly hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
